Our dogs were ultimately delivered to their final destinations so we are pleased with that. The level of communication is also A+ it's real nice to be able to track their progress. Just a few things bothered us, and we just want to be honest so others can be aware. We sent 2 dogs to Portland, and one to WA State; when they got to Northern California they had van trouble and decided to return. I do believe their van was well-maintained. Nothing they can do about a sudden malfunction, really. It had to be a stressful situation but in coming back they did not feed our dogs on the schedule we requested. They arrived very late in the night and the dogs did not get their dinner. To their credit, the van was fixed quickly and they were back on schedule for Wednesday in order to get our dogs up north. Be aware, however, they are picking up dogs along the way which prolongs the length of time your dog is in the crate in the van. One thing that bothered me is that Shake a Leg didn't even offer a discount of any type considering that our poor dogs were stuck in crates all the way to Northern California and back and then they had to do it all over again. Again, not much they could do about car trouble but I think a small discount would have gone a long way towards better feelings, especially considering we are a nonprofit rescue just trying to get dogs into better situations and we paid top price to begin with. Also, the second the last dog was delivered, they were already asking for the payment balance. A few times. We agreed to pay upon delivery of course but the haste in asking for that payment sent a clear signal it was all about the $$$$$. We paid the deposit on schedule and were obviously good for it, just a bad look and feel for me personally. Of course, it's a business and the fees are important but the way they came off left a bad taste in my mouth. So, the job was done but there are definitely things I would consider before hiring them.

If you are lucky enough to receive a bid from this company who do all their deliveries themselves, Geovana and her husband. Hire them immediately this is a no brainer. I have tried other pet transports and these people are complete professionals. I had to do a complicated trip with 6 of my cats and had tons of things on top of the huge cases and they were able to accommodate me. On top of that the husband went out of his way to help me load the cats which took almost two hours when there were many logistical processes. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pets they have a sophisticated gps system and Geovana sent me daily updates with pictures. They did the whole trip from Minnesota to Florida in two days, this was incredible! On top of that they cleaned the litter boxes and fed them everday! If you’re on the fence like I said this company is the best! Thank you Geovana and send a thank you to your husband for me!

Mike was fantastic. He transported a quirky load of plants and soil for us from California to Minnesota and made the entire process seamless. He was prompt, communicative, and professional from start to finish; and the price was very fair. Partway through the trip, he discovered our plants were full of hundreds of flies (yikes!), which could have made things miserable. Instead, he stayed cheerful, understanding, and unflappable. I can’t express enough how grateful I am to CJ for safely bringing my two dogs, Mex and Pixie, from California all the way to Texas. This was such a big journey for them and for me as well, and I had been preparing myself for the long wait of two and a half to three days. But to my surprise, CJ pushed through and made the trip without unnecessary delays, arriving about 12 hours earlier than I had expected. Seeing my dogs sooner than planned was such a gift, and I will always remember that moment of joy when I first held them again. What made the experience even more comforting was how thoughtful and attentive CJ was along the way. He didn’t just drive—he cared. Throughout the journey, he sent me updates, photos, and videos of Max and Pixie drinking water, taking breaks, going on little walks, and eating their meals. For a pet parent, those small updates mean the world. Each video gave me peace of mind, letting me know they weren’t just being transported, but truly being cared for with love and patience. Max and Pixie can both be shy and nervous, especially in cars and with new people, but CJ treated them as if they were his own.
