If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. Let me explain how this entire situation went down and I will provide any kind of contact information for those who need more details I hired Paw-Sitive Travels to bring a pup from Kansas City Missouri to just outside of Richmond, Virginia. They picked up my pup at 10am and all seemed to go well. Several hours later (1:40pm), I received a text from Sarah, who wasn’t even present on the transport, saying that Scott had lost my pup only a few hours away from the airport where he picked him up. As it turns out, the truck stop where my pup allegedly went missing, was less than 2 hours away from where he was picked up. So we’re almost 4 hours in when I’m being told the dog was lost 2 hours away from his pickup point. At this point, I immediately involved the previous owners who were somewhat more familiar with the area. The previous owners came out and helped look for the pup. The transporter claimed they called the police for assistance, so naturally I called the local police departments to confirm. What I got from the police on scene was, “yes, they did call. The driver (Scott) was disoriented and confused. He probably shouldn’t have been driving any living being. He might be on drugs.” Alarming? Yeah, you could say that. Scott decided midway through the search party that he was done, and he drove home to Illinois. Scott and his wife Sarah told me the police directed him to leave. According to the police, this is entirely untrue. They were splitting up search parties and were trying to cover as much ground as possible; hence the more bodies, the better. But yeah, the person who lost the pup left the scene. We didn’t get anymore help from the transporters. The previous owners were unable to find the pup that day. They went home for the night. We called all the local businesses who agreed to get camera footage because at this point, it was clear that the dog didn’t just get loose. This dog is used to loud noises, in fact, his prior owners own and excavating company and you have to remove him from in front of the excavators. Lol. What we were told about the pup’s escape is that “a loud trucker at a truck stop honked his horn and the dog slipped his collar and ran off.” Well, this dog is not concerned by horns, or noises, and doesn’t spook easily. He grew up on a farm and is used to tractors, excavators, and again….. lots of noise! Anyway, let’s continue on…. Going to skip a few conversations for the time being. The pup I was having transported was registered AKC. I asked for a couple things from the transporters after the other issues that occurred, one was that I wanted the pup’s papers sent to me as soon as possible, and the other was that I receive a refund for the transport. Sarah assured me she would send the refund that night and that the pup’s paperwork would go out the following morning. Almost 12 hours later, I still hadn’t received the refund. I reached out to Sarah and was told they used all their money to get to the transport, and they weren’t able to refund the money for several days. Okay, no big deal. Wasn’t a lot of money if I never see it again. Next I ask for tracking information on the papers. Now there’s a delay on the paperwork. Sarah couldn’t get it out on time. Meanwhile, I get calls/texts from three different numbers from Illiniois (where Sarah and Paw-sitive travels reside) saying all of my paperwork was found in the middle of a road, torn up to pieces. The individual who got in touch with me promised to send the paperwork. A couple hours later, out of the blue, the individual who found the paperwork calls me and tells me that they found the person who lost the paperwork! What are the chances? Well, upon further investigation, it turns out that the person who “found” the paperwork it biologically related to the person who “lost” the paperwork. So whatever, I let that go and asked that the paperwork be sent to me ASAP. A few hours later, not knowing anything about my conversations with the people who found the paperwork, Sarah decides to let me know that my paperwork is damaged because they took in a foster puppy, and left my extremely important paperwork on the kitchen table, where the 12 week old foster puppy was allowed to jump on the table unsupervised, and destroy the paperwork. Wait, you still want these people transporting your pups? They lost mine, then took one in that was supposedly 12 weeks old and that one was allowed to run wild to the point where it jumped on the kitchen table and destroyed my missing pup’s AKC papers. Thing again, because none of this is logical. The text I received from Sarah was “just a heads up, the paperwork is overall fine but we took in a late night foster dog last night and he destroyed everything in sight in my lving room and dining room. He did get ahold of the paerowrik but I was able to collect all of the pieces and some here not harmed at all. As far as I could tell, you can still read all of the information. It isn’t as bad as I initialythought it was. Mainly just trears but wanted to let you know why it looked like it had been through the ringer. From here on out, I’m going to let you guys ask for proof and see screen shots of text messages. There’s so much more and I will update as often as possible. What I can tell you right now is that I paid a lot of money for a pup that is now permanently missing (and/or dead) and I’ve lost thousands of dollars dealing with Pawsitive travels. Sarah tells me they’ll reimburse me, but that they don’t have any money so I’ll have to wait and be patient. I haven’t seen a dime. PM me or anything, I’ll give you my phone number and every other way to get in touch with me.

For 9 years Nicholas the cat was an only animal living with my mother-in-law – gentle but somewhat standoffish. When my mother-in-law died two weeks ago, we knew that Nicholas would be coming to live with us; but this presented two problems: how to transport Nicholas from San Diego to Pittsburgh; and how to make the move as smooth, safe, and relaxed as possible so that Nicholas arrived ready to adjust to his new home. This is where Risa Mancillas and 5-Star Pet Relocation entered the picture. We had heard horror stories of people booking to take a cat with them via air only to have a flight cancelled and be told by the airlines that the new flight had no room for a cat, so we decided to explore the overland route and found Risa through Citizen Shipper. We wanted someone to take Nicholas (and only Nicholas) directly from his former home in San Diego to his new home in Pittsburgh. Risa was fantastic…extremely well-organized and responsive, and very concerned with providing Nicholas with the safest and most positive experience possible. He traveled in style in Risa’s two-“room” cat condo complete with a comfortable cube, in which he spent much of his time, and an adjoining litter-box area. He ate, he drank his water, and, yes, he used the litter box — all signs that the trip was not nearly as stressful as it might have been. Risa allowed us to follow her progress across the country via GPS and we knew at all times where he was. She sent us regular text updates and photos and we knew at all times how he was. In short, our experience with Risa and 5-Star could not have been more positive. 5-Star absolutely deserves 5 stars!

We moved from one end of the USA to the other and I was so nervous about shipping my pets! I have 3 dogs (one of which is a big lab) and a cat. The airlines we were flying on would only be able to accommodate my 2 small pets, my lab and my 13 year old terrier would have had to be shipped on a separate cargo plane!
