I was ready to give Door to Door 5 stars because of their communication, reasonable bid, etc. For reference, my pickup date for my dog was scheduled for 4/29. On 4/27, I received a call from the actual driver asking if my dog could be picked up that afternoon. With such a last minute request, we couldn't accommodate as our move was scheduled around the 4/29 pickup date. I told the driver no, but did not get an indication that this would cause her to not be able to pick up my dog on the originally set date. Later, I received a call from Door to Door saying they did not have a driver for my dog and were actively looking for a replacement. By 4/27 afternoon, we still did not have a confirmed driver, even though we had this transport scheduled for a month already. I realize mishaps can happen, but I just did not feel comfortable waiting the day before scheduled pick up to see if my transport was going to happen or not. I ended up cancelling my trip with Door to Door and found a replacement with the help of Citizen Shipper. I am giving Door to Door 2 stars instead of 1, as they were very communicative and did refund me the deposit I paid a month ago. Unfortunately, I would not book with them again due to the high probability that pick up date will change last minute or their drivers will back out.

I was left hanging for two weeks without any communication from Scott to let me know when he was going to pickup our boat. I was polite, not pushy, just looking for a response as I tried to get an idea when our boat would get delivered. Finally, after two weeks, he responded and said something happened that caused him not to be able to communicate but didn't really elaborate. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt but even when Scott got in touch with me( via text only) after me leaving several voice messages, he only provided a vague response on when he might be able to deliver the boat. I get it that things happen but unless you are in a hospital bed or a loved one died, which neither scenario was presented to me, just communicate, pickup the phone and call, it really solves a lot of problems. Needless to say, I cancelled the shipment.

Emi is a GODSEND! I was so nervous about moving across the country without my dog, Heidi, by my side, but the second she and Chewy arrived, my mind was at ease. Heidi and Chewy were instantly bff’s, chasing each other all around, sniffing on one another, and having a blast. It had been a while since I had seen my dog that happy with all the stress she must’ve picked up on in preparation for moving which made me very happy! She also had an immediate connection with Emi, whom I refer to as “The Dog Whisperer” which isn’t surprising considering she has over 28 years of experience working with pets. After receiving the first batch of pics Emi sent, I realized my dog was having the time of her life and most likely not missing me! So I knew then I had nothing to worry about except maybe my dog not wanting to part from them. Chewy is the cutest thing ever and could easily be mistaken for a stuffed animal which made the pics even better. Emi sent lots of pics daily and really kept me in the loop, and if you’re worried about your dog not eating or pooping, don’t- - -she’s got this! There are not words big enough to adequately describe how highly I recommend booking your animal’s transport with Hunter. Our dog had a medical emergency halfway through transit (no fault of Hunter’s at all, it was very likely an aggressive wide spread cancer). He immediately realized there was an issue and, despite being in the middle of nowhere Kansas, raced her to a vet. He waited hours for her to get stabilized enough for the vets to feel okay about discharging her to attempt the rest of the journey. Unfortunately she crossed the rainbow bridge, but he did everything in his power to get her to the hospital in Kentucky where she passed with Dad by her side. The entire journey, front start to finish, he was exceptionally professional and responsive. He sent us 25+ pictures a day and updated us regularly both before and after her sudden decline. You can expect your pet to be treated with love, respect, and outstanding care regardless of their age. Hunter, again thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

Problems do arise (none of them due to them!) and they went above and beyond to ensure my dog was looked after beyond any expectation. After traveling over 1700 miles with my dog to the Mexican border, the person that was due to meet them was late.
