Jeff was excellent. My first time using Citizenshipper and glad I did. He was communicative, easy to work with, responsible, fairly priced, and took great care of my pup. And traveled quickly! From New York City to northern Maine in a day. He was willing to go the extra distance (literally) to take her to the border of Canada. She got to sleep in her own bed in the main area of the van. It's not the first time for me to get pets and other stuff dilevered but it was the first time for me to work with Sean and his family and it was amazing. He kept on updating me with locations of him and the Xavier all the way until he arrived. The pick up location didn't show up on the navigation so it took him some time to find the seller's address. However, he did that without stressing me out. He kept calling the seller until he found his address finaly. I could not be happier with the job they performed. They were very reassuring and kept in contact throughout the trip. I forgot to tell them I packed blankets for the dogs. So they stopped and got blankets for both dogs so they would be more comfortable. They took great care of my two dogs and if I have a need to transport them again I will definitely be calling them.

This is a bit long but worth reading before considering working with Martin. This was not a good experience. I was told by the person I bought the boat from the hull was perfect and I asked him to photograph the hull before it was picked up for transport. I talked with Martin before he picked it up, and he said he would either put it on top of his truck (the boat’s only 13 ft long, has only a dolly) or put it in the bed, whatever he thought would be best. It seemed to me the bed would be better as it has a shell and would be protected, but I deferred to his choice as he was the pro, not me. I was still concerned about it being on top of the truck and, while in transit, asked if he had wrapped the hull in sheet plastic to protect it. He hadn’t, but said he would cover it (which was a small moving blanket covering only the middles section of the hull). When the boat arrived, there were arced groove marks torn into the gelcoat (and lighter scrape marks) from middle to the back of the hull. When I brought this to his attention (sent him a video), he said he didn’t know how they got there, that he had ‘covered’ the hull and that maybe they were there before hand. We agreed the gouges were difficult to explain (though I have no experience transporting to know either way), but there they were. I showed him the photo the previous owner had made of the spotless hull. He questioned whether the photo was recent or not, implying that the seller might have send an old photo, etc. I said that if he had wrapped the hull in plastic, there would be tear marks in the plastic that 1. Might have protected it or, 2. Would be ripped showing it had happened in transit. In the end, Martin said he didn’t know how they got there and because of that, he said he “couldn’t be held responsible for things that were out of his control”. This also meant he didn’t feel there was any need to utilize his insurance policy. In other words, he was washing his hands of any responsibility. He offered 250 to compensate for a gelcoat repair estimate (which I sent him) of 12-1400 dollars. He argued that he had done a good job, that he had taped the running rig so it wouldn’t drag off the top of the truck with duct tape (leaving residue that took 2 hours to clean off). Fine, but that had nothing to do with the problem at hand. As for his covering the hull with a small blanket, it only covered part of it and would do no more than protect it from, what… the sun? As I see it, Martin has his fall back of “I can’t be held responsible for things that are out of his control” which is his ‘out’ on anything that goes wrong he doesn’t want to be responsible for (“because I don’t know how it happened”). Which means it’s your problem and will have to pay for (if you can afford it). Yes, maybe the seller wasn’t being honest; just as possible, Martin knew how it happened while claiming he didn’t and used his out of “I can’t be held responsible for things that are out of his control”. Lesson: If you have Martin transport your boat, you will have to have the seller and Martin inspect and document EVERYTHING to make sure this doesn’t happen to you. Or perhaps it might be better to look elsewhere for your transport needs. You’ll likely her Martin’s rebuttal on all this and why he believes he’s done no wrong. It’s your choice in the end. (Finally: as 250 didn’t feel like enough for 1000+ repair, I asked if he’d chip in another 150. If he did, I said I could walk away and feel ok enough and not give him this bad review. I don’t like potentially hurting anyone’s business. He declined.)

Serena was beyond amazing when transporting my 9 week old puppy Nala. She would share her location with me at all times and would often send pictures updating me on how my puppy was doing!! She even went above and beyond and bought nala her own crate, puppy pads and a play pen for us, which she also used at the hotel since my puppy is still not able to go out or touch the floor of public spaces due to her age. Serena was incredibly sweet and although she has not transported that many animals on this website, she has so much experience with animals and knows how to treat them super well. Since Nala is still a puppy, she would sometimes whine and bark and Serena found a way to calm her down by playing relaxing puppy music and cuddling with her. I know it is very scary to send your pet and especially a puppy with someone else, but I 100% trust Serena to do a good job when transporting any animal, and I 100% recommended her to anyone that needs this service. I was beyond satisfied and would rate her even higher than 5 stars if I could. :) Thank you so much for your time and kindness Serena!!!
