Everything seemed to be going great until my pup was delivered. She went from Iowa to California and it took almost 5 days. I had to ask for ETAs instead of being provided with updates. The reason for a 3-star rating is that when my pup arrived, she was sick. She had bloody stools, was not eating but drinking so much water. She had to be taken to the vet and I really wish I would've been informed that she got sick on the way or that she was arriving ill.

This was my first time using CitizenShipper. I needed my friend's black lab, Onyx, transported from Colorado Springs, CO to Salt Lake City, UT. I had to cancel the first person I booked due to lack of communication so when I re-listed Onyx, Ranae caught my attention right away. I assume that everyone has a generic message they send, but Ranae also included a more personalized one. She also stated her offer was negotiable, but I took a liking to her right away and was more than ok with the offer. I was in the process of getting a new tire and so I let Ranae know that I would book her after it went on - just to be sure everything went well and that I could get to UT as I currently reside in WA. Pros: - Communication was great early on. It transitioned to text messages as soon as I booked. She suggested we create a group chat with me, my friend, and herself to further facilitate communication. A few days before pickup, I reached out to Ranae to confirm payment. Immediately after this, I got on the road and it just slipped my mind. She followed up later to ask for payment, which I am glad she did. Venmo was a secure way to pay her 1/2 payment prior to pickup - Timely delivery - Ranae was about an hour later than she anticipated, but everywhere was getting hit with snowstorms and so it was understandable. Reception was also very spotty where we were traveling so communication on ETA was limited the last few hours Suggestions for improvement: - Communication utilizing the group chat more would have been preferred. I was not in the loop as to what was going on with Onyx's pickup until Ranae was already at my friend's place - More communication and photos throughout the trip would have eased my mind a lot. I received one photo and that was the empty car seat without Onyx. Like stated above, the weather was not the greatest and there were parts where reception was spotty, but there were also opportunities to update me on the trip - rather than me having to prompt for an update - Communication with how to access GPS tracking would have been helpful rather than again, me prompting - Payment of the other 1/2 was due at drop-off. Because of the weather and lack of reception, Ranae kindly told me to just Venmo her when Onyx and I got somewhere safe. It was maybe an hour later that I got a text message asking me to Venmo her. Onyx and I just got over the mountain pass where it was snowing heavily and luckily were stopped so that I could. I was a bit startled by this as she insisted we focus on getting somewhere safely and to worry about it later. - Onyx was very thirsty - Very brief recap of how the Onyx was throughout the trip. Was not told how often they stopped, how often he ate, how much he drank, etc Overall, we are satisfied. Perhaps a lot of this could have been prevented if I was more inquisitive on how this process works (?) Like stated, this was my first time. I will be sure to be a lot more specific next time but it would also help if our transporters offered some of their expertise as well.

I'm disappointed with this whole experience, it's been nothing but stressful. My car left me stranded in SC early morning Thursday 12/23 while I was on my way to NY for work. I was able to get the car off the main road and into a Circle K parking lot but I knew I couldn't just leave my car parked there in a gas station for too long. I was desperate and really needed to find someone to transport my car back to FL and needed to have all this arranged before my flight that evening. I knew it would be tough to find someone to do it on the holiday weekend but I was hopeful. I had a couple of other offers but ADL told me the car could be picked up between FRIDAY 12/24-Monday 12/27 so that's why I went with them!! I emphasize on this because they NEVER SAID 1-5 BUSINESS days. Well, my car didn't get picked up until Thursday 12/30... A WHOLE WEEK LATER. There really was such a lack of communication. I just wish they were honest and straightforward with me, I would have understood and could have made other arrangements. I was in NY for a whole week worried sick about my car being in some parking lot with the keys out there too because I had to leave them in order for ADL to take the car of course. But the best part... we had agreed to a specific price. I paid the initial deposit and understood the remaining amount had to be paid directly to the driver upon drop off. To my surprise, the amount due to the driver was more than initially discussed and I wasn't going to argue with this man dropping of my car or keep him waiting on NYE while I waited for ADL to respond to my messages (which they didn't and still haven't). Just really bad communication. Truly lacking good customer service. Everything was great up until I booked and paid, after that it all went downhill. I even had to insist on a phone call after I booked to go over some trip details and that didn't happen. They told me someone would be calling me the next day (Friday) but that never happened either. I didn't speak with anyone until Monday when I had to call and was finally able to get through to someone. Ultimately, I'm grateful that they were able to get my car back home to FL and it was dropped off within 24 hours of pickup but I think if I ever need this service again I might be looking elsewhere.

Moose was driven in a clean, comfy car and with Risa's daily pictures and updates I knew he was being cared for the whole way.
