I recently bought a puppy from a breeder in Alabama, and just before she could be flown to Philadelphia the airlines stopped taking dogs in cargo. It was very difficult to find a good ground transporter who would not be extending her trip with various pickups of other dogs, but I ultimately was fortunate to find Steve at Always Alert. He picked her up in Alabama, along with a few other puppies from the same breeder coming to the Philadelphia area, and had her here within 24 hours of pickup. He and his co-driver had to stop every two hours for rest breaks for the puppies, which made it a longer trip for them, but my puppy arrived clean and happy and obviously very well cared for during the trip. I am so grateful to Steve for bringing my puppy to our home in a timely and professional manner, and at a very reasonable cost, and highly recommend him and Always Alert for pet transport.

Although the last-minute pickup day rescheduling was a bit of an inconvenience, the driver arrived promptly (even a few hours early) to collect my puppy the day of. There were a few setbacks during the trip. I wasn't given a tracking ID for a few days, they never sent any pictures of my pup, and there were too many push backs in the drop off date for my taste. They provided decent communication. My pup arrived safely and in good spirits after a weeklong journey. The driver, David, was also a very nice man. I must take the COVID factor into account. I'm sure there were many trips to complete lately because of this. Overall, with some communication improvements and following up on some of the features listed on their bid, I'd recommend this service. They answered my questions thoroughly and made sure my pup arrived safely, albeit slightly late.

*I would like to clarify that the initial issue that led to the cancellation of the delivery was not strictly the driver's fault. My issue was his handling of the situation afterward. We had contacted Nick to transport my dog, a female German Shepherd, from SC to WA. A date range had been sent, but due to complications from the COVID-19 shut-downs we could only meet Nick on the weeked at the very end of the date range. I also paid the fee to Citizenshipper as well as $500 up front (which was reasonable). About a week before the date we were supposed to meet, Nick contacted me saying that his other deliveries would not let him stay in my area of SC long enough to complete the transaction and offered to either reschedule it for late April or give a refund. While inconvenient, I understood that these things happened and agreed to reschedule. However, when I asked when in April he'd be able to complete pick my dog up, he failed to respond at all (at the time of writing this, it has been 3 weeks and is already the middle of April). A week ago, I decided to cancel the transaction complete as 1) I received no answer from him to reschedule and 2) my need to transport her was gone. I asked for a refund a week and a half ago and again have not received a response. Due to that, I am taking steps to contact my credit card company to flag the $500 as fraudulent and will be requesting a refund of the fee from citizenshipper.
