Bottom Line: We had booked on citizenshipper a driver who flaked out and Shawn was our last minute bidder at the better price than others. Tey were coming through the Portland, Oregon area and heading to Melbourne Florida where we are relocating. In short, it took seven days. Our Pug arrived healthy, in good spirits. Some areas of improvement that I would recommend. If a time and date for pick/up delivery is given, update before the time arrives if there's any changes. We understand. Please note that our pug is used to being crated for car rides or alone for long days (due to work) and pugs are low energy and this worked out for her profile.

Rick was incredibly responsive and friendly throughout the entire transaction from initiation of conversation to drop off. I have never used citizenshipper before and was very nervous about getting my dog driven basically cross country with a total stranger. Also, the dog isn’t fully potty trained so I was nervous about ruining someone else’s car. Rick was very friendly, miraculously there were no dog accidents, and the dog arriving early was just the cherry on top.

Celia was AMAZING! I had never transported a dog and she made me feel so calm. When she was driving, I gave her the respect of no texting. I didn’t want to put her life or my dog in danger. She sent me pics when they stopped and gave me up to date info on how my dog was doing. Celia is very thoughtful of your wants. I didn’t want my dog to be in the car overnight so she was grateful enough to wait till morning to pick him up and then drive 10 hrs. All that while she had dogs to deliver the next day!! But she knew how I felt and respected my feelings. More so, I think she respected the dog! When we met with my NEW dog. I went straight to hug here and Celia did not resist. Celia knew it was a rough 10-11 hrs for me to see my new baby. The most important thing...Celia helped me feed my dog that was starving and almost took my arm and the bowl. She held his leash tight and was calm and help me every step of the way. Celia is a great, honest, nice and respectful person. I would recommend her her with 100% of my heart!

Driver was responsive even when he shouldn't have been (while driving) and managed to get my dog to me on time despite a blow out accident that I was not informed of. When recieving my dog it was found to be sick with a severe nasal infection. He was bleeding from the nose, so much so that the blood dried and sealed his nasel passages off. English bulldogs can't breathe the best anyway especially not when sick. I was not told that he was ever sick and David claimed he was like that at pick up. With proof from breeder and vet that was not true. At pick up his nose was clear so David should have informed me of this. Plus after leaving after being paid he stop at Walmart leaving three chihuahuas in his care out in his vehicle while running into the store. We called and asked him to stop back by to ask why our dog was sick but he left shortly after and didn't not see us before leaving. Tho I'm thankful he was with us on time I was outraged that he transported a sick dog and did not tell us or the breeder and did not inform me that my dog was in a auto accident minor or not those are things we should have been told. It's still unclear due to vague info given by David and circumstance what caused my dog to get so sick so quickly but that was 650$ mistake I won't make again nor will I refer this transport to anyone else. (This review is bit late due to us being busy getting our new fur baby well again, contacting the breeder, and trying to figure this all out. And giving David ample time to *remember* anything and respond. )

Driver called me after picking up the pet, confusing me with the new owner, and informed me the delivery that was scheduled for Saturday would not be until the following Monday. Then attempted to express it was my (seller's) confusion with the scheduled delivery day, still thinking I was the new pet owner. When I reminded her I was the seller and that we had text correspondence confirmation of the day of delivery, she apologized for her "over-ambition" and stated she just simply couldn't get it done. The buyer and I were both very worried until the dog's arrival, I did not send enough food for the two extra days. Overall, generally dissatisfied with this experience.

We totally understand that things happen but the day before she was to arrive (two different times) we reached out to get an idea of what time she would be there only to be told that she was a few days behind which ended up being a week and then ultimately cancelling altogether.---------------------Driver's Rebuttal: Dear Stephanie, We understand your frustration with not getting your pet shipped as you desired. However, you acknowledged the risk of us potentially not meeting your time schedule when the delivery order was created, and subsequently during our delivery route. When you contacted us for your shipping needs, we informed you that you were at the end of our delivery route, and this is where scheduling is most prone to slippage due to the cumulative snowball effects of unforeseen delays. We informed you of this risk during the booking, and you acknowledged the possibility, and continued to book with us. Unfortunately, two unforeseen events occurred during our route, and we knew we would not make your timetable. When the issues manifested, we informed you of the issues and asked you to find another transporter to meet your needs. You said “Thank You for letting me know”, and you canceled the transaction. The part that we left you high and dry, really upsets us as you knew up-front this might happen. We take no joy in the fact we could not meet your timetable, as this is at the core of our business model; to strive to meet our customer needs. But, we did the next best thing by keeping you informed and letting you make the final decision. We are sorry this trip did not work out for you. Best wishes.

You effortlessly were very rude from the beginning , therefore I can understand why you chose to read any of my responses the same. I’m not sure how “ we require half deposited. Which way would you like to pay?” A change in demand, more of a generic oversight as it was my second day on the job here. Once you stated it was Cash upon Delivery in the text , that was it from me, I placed you with a courier. Now I know, I should have told you that we can’t take your booking because cash upon delivery is scary for the couriers and they don’t like to do it. So for that, I do apologize. Citizenshipper is not responsible for you refusing to solidify your shipment with a deposit. Thank you for this experience and once again It is unfortunate that your shipment was not fulfilled and for that I do apologize. We are a small family business and some times life happens. Steven was beyond amazing for our dog relocation! I was super nervous because our dog is an Old English Sheepdog so he’s big (110 pounds) and has a lot of hair so he gets hot quickly so was concerned about the long journey. Before booking Steven answered all my questions and followed through with additional requests I made. He even stopped at a grocery store to pick up grilled chicken because I knew our dog would be too nervous to eat his dry food on the road. I also received text updates with photos every 3-4 hours. Eric and Cherisse were a remarkable set of pet transporters. At the pick up point, my husband had second thoughts about the long trip from ATL to San Diego, since our baby has some separation issues. However, Cherisse managed to assure him that our baby will be well taken cared of and they were correct. Cherisse and Eric sent us pics every 5 to 6 hours and told us how our Sparky was doing. This calmed our nerves so well. We appreciate how they took care of our baby and he arrived to San Diego safely and securely. Steve was great! The breeder had a short window for pickup and Steve communicated with the breeder directly when there was an accident and traffic was at a complete stop. The breeder had nothing but praises about communication and the pickup! He said Steve cleaned the crate(which already appeared clean) in front of him with Lysol wipes and waited until it was completed dry, lined it with a puppy pad and then placing the puppy in the crate. We received our puppy early the next day as scheduled. The puppy obviously liked Steve, which to me means he talked to him and treated him well. Steve was well equipped to handle puppy accidents, which happen when traveling long distances with a young puppy. We will use Steve again if needed and the breeder already has him scheduled to deliver another puppy.

Quick response to my texts, and I just knew Chubbs was in great care. On time, polite, caring, loving, just fantastic. Eric and Cherisse are great people and a wonderful way to transport a pet. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with citizenshipper ,horrible communication,left us hanging in between conversation after she was not able to pick up on date for hours,then we even said we would wait for her if she could complete delivery on day she chose but waited more than a day to get no reply until after she seen we reposted for a new driver ,which we have all conversation that we did get on file from phone,if you treasure your loved family members I would not use LYNN THORNTON to pick up my dog waste!!!!! The one star is for citizenshipper trying to get me a new driver-----------------------------Driver's Rebuttal:Due to unforeseen circumstances ie. my car, (even though it's a newer car) had some issues happen, one of them being my air conditioner. They couldn't look at it until Friday. I wanted this puppy to be delivered safe and sound to her new home. I tried to communicate with the buyer over the phone, so he could tell how disappointed and upset I was having to move the date. He didn't answer. I cannot always respond within a few minutes to texts. I was also needing to hear about my car. I apologized several times. What more could I do? I received text message updates almost every day during travel, including pictures which was very reassuring. His services were fairly priced. The only reason I am rating 4 stars is because there was a bit of a communication lapse during pick up. Alex arrived about 12 hours after our agreed upon day/time. Thankfully I was not in a rush/time crunch for transportation, so it was not a significant issue for me. The cat arrived safe and sound to my mother's house after 6 days of travel without any issues! I would recommend this transport service.

First, you need to understand what the service is. They have a large van that is stacked to the ceiling with rows of crates. They drive across the country and pick up as many dogs as possible, thereby zig-zagging and requiring a lot longer on the road. There are two people, so they drive 20+hours a day. We used her because she had a lot of positive reviews, but I was very disappointed. I was told 4-6 days, but throughout the trip she kept saying Monday-Tuesday. We made arrangements for someone to be home, but she did not show up until Thursday morning, just shy of 7 days. Furthermore, my dog apparently had an anxiety attack and chewed a hole in his crate. He was then put back in his crate and he proceeded to chew it more. He is 1.5 years old and I had no idea he would panic. Of course he has never taken a trip like this, whose dog has? When my wife received the dogs they had feces all over their legs and my dog is lethargic and not eating or drinking as well as missing upper and lower teeth. He is on his way to the emergency vet, probably to have an operation to remove the plastic from his stomach. I horribly regret using this service. Horribly equipped to handle a dog with anxiety on a 7 day trip. Will your dog have anxiety? Who knows. Do yourself a favor and use a private company or a transport that doesn’t have crates stacked to the ceiling. ------------------------------------------------Driver's Rebuttal: Dear Paul, We are truly sorry that your pet hurt itself during transport. We do take the time and care for each pet as if they were our own, and were saddened that your pet had this anxiety attack and hurt itself. To be fair, some of the things you said we agree with such as there were two of us and we do switch off driving to get your pets delivered. Also, we have multiple pick-ups and deliveries across the lower 48 states that take us through many of the states. In addition, we do have kennels stacked three high along the side and rear of the vehicle which are anchored to the walls; and have been inspected and approved for operation by the USDA; which oversees animal transport. This arrangement is manageable and allows ample air to flow through the kennels. The kennels are well organized, which allows us easy access to each kennel. I would like to address some of the other issues that you wrote about. 1. You mentioned your dogs had feces on their legs. Your dogs were very well trained and never made any messes in their kennel. As mentioned earlier, we take various routes as our pick-up and deliveries are vast. Therefore, we are constantly stopping at new locations to walk the dogs; day and night. We stopped at several areas that recently had rain showers. Most likely what was on the dogs was some dried mud.2. In a private correspondent with us you mentioned you should have flown your dogs as it would only have been an eight hour trip, and your dog would have been sedated. If your dog needed to be sedated for an airline trip, why wasn’t anxiety medicine provided for our trip? If it’s true that you didn’t know about your dogs anxiety, then how would you know to sedate it for the airlines? At least with us we stopped the dog from hurting itself further by giving him more attention. Who would have attended to your dog in an airplane cargo hold?3. You mentioned we are improperly equipped to handle a dog with an anxiety attack. We first noticed your dog pacing, and whining in the kennel. This behavior is not uncommon and normally means they need a rest-stop to do business. We pulled over several times and took your dog out of the kennel to let him relieve himself and calm down. Unfortunately, every-time we got a few miles down the highway, he started the same behavior again until he went into a panic and destroy mode. After he destroyed the kennel, and injured himself, only then did he calm down. We had no medicine to give him, as nothing was proved to us, and cannot by-law give him medicine that was not prescribed for him. We kept you informed when this unfortunate incident happened, with video and text. We also could have charged you $320 for the destroyed transport kennel. But, we understand how heartbreaking it is to receive your pet in a hurt condition. Lastly, you need to know that if we provided a direct delivery from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Portland, Oregon, that the cost would have been three times higher. You were informed there were several pick-ups and drop-offs before your dogs got to their destination. You were fine with this arrangement. We are on the road for almost 12,000 miles per route. Nobody can drive that many miles and be expected to get be accurate with scheduling times. We had a tire blowout in Idaho in the middle of nowhere with no AT&T or Verizon service. By the time we found a home that would let us use a land-line, and got the tire repaired, we lost almost a half day of delivery. These things happen, and we try to update the clients as possible. However, driving through parts of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon states we have spotty service. Again, we are sorry your pet was injured and wish him a speedy recovery.
