We were extremely disappointed with David’s communication and customer service. He was at times aggressive and demeaning, specifically to my wife and sister in law. We felt very uncomfortable during the whole process but had to be cautious because he had our dog in his possession. I cannot recommend his service to anyone. If you care about your dog, think twice. If you expect to have a clear route and a clear departure and arrival window, think twice. If you’re a woman who expects to be treated with respect or empathy, avoid this person. The only positive is that he did get our dog to her new home safely. My family, who received the dog, stated he seemed loving towards her and she seemed okay. For which we are so grateful. Maybe we caught him on a bad day, but with so many positive reviews we were shocked that working with David was such a horrible experience. It started after we booked, his tone seemed to change from friendly to as if we were bothering him when asking basic questions. He was polite and clear during our messages on citizenshipper, but once we began texting about pickup, there was a shift. The time for our dogs pickup changed 3 times, originally it was Saturday morning, then Saturday mid/late afternoon, then back to Saturday 6-7am. This was fine with us but David called and seemed aggravated with us asking simple questions so we could plan and coordinate for her travel and arrival. David then let us know on Friday night that after getting our dog that next morning, he would drop another puppy off and continue with our dog up to a Chicago to her new home. We wanted to know the route our dog was taking with this change. He became aggressive over text writing “why? What difference does it make?” I explained we just want to know our dogs route he continued “ I am honestly trying to accommodate this transport with all the requests. But I am puzzled as to why customer is never happy.” I said we are happy and appreciate the morning pickup time, no concerns here and thanked him- even though I was confused what all requests were distressing him. He then continued on with long angry texts that suggested I was upset to not have a solo trip (I never stated this) and why do I need the exact route? and then quote “in all my trips ( about) 11000 so far nobody has toyed with me so much.” I found his behavior strange and erratic and I wish I had canceled the trip then, but I desperately needed my dog transported. I apologized if there was miscommunication on our end.. and I said we looked forward to seeing him for pickup. I got no reply until next morning that he was 15 mins away. Loading our dog went fine, however once she was loaded up David chose to tell my wife condescendingly “You know, you’re a very anxious lady. If you look back at our conversations you will see you have caused me all this stress” of course we were anxious to send our beloved dog off with a stranger. He lacked empathy, tact, and basic respect with these comments. Instead of being reassuring he chose to be demeaning in a vulnerable moment for our family. We wanted to call out his behavior but his demeanor was aggressive and we didn’t want to cause a fight. Our dog was already away in his van, he had our money, we felt backed into a corner so we chose to ignore his rude comments at the time. This began a nightmare of a 13 hour day of worrying what kind of person had possession of our dog. Additionally, our dog is strong and walks with a prong collar, he said before the trip he was familiar with these. When we asked him to remove the prong collar when the dog was in the crate in the car, (basic common sense & safety so she couldn’t possibly choke herself in case of an accident etc) he said “I can, but it would make no difference” which was concerning from a “professional dog transporter”. He said he would send photos and updates of his journey. I did not receive any photos of my dog the entire trip. He called my sister in law (dogs new home) hours after departing to let her know drop off would be around 8:30pm, which was great. Eventually I did text to ask how she was doing and he replied simply „she’s fine“. Another hour later he said he gave her a potty break and she’s a good girl. When my sister in law became concerned at the lack of photos or updates halfway through the trip, she texted him asking for some. He called her and was short and aggressive with her. Telling her that he was communicating with me (he was not) and driving. Another hour later he sent one photo of the dog to her, just of her in her crate panting, that was the only photo the whole journey. None of him walking her, giving water, or any other updates on her condition. I had told him she eats at 5pm daily and sent food and her bowl. He shut this down, saying that he doesn’t feed if he arrives close to their dinner stating „it doesn’t make a difference to the dog“ so when she arrived at 9pm finally she was very very hungry. She also chugged water. We’re unsure how much he gave her on the drive, again due to lack of updates. We felt like our questions angered him so we kept them to a minimum sadly out of concern for our dog. Finally during drop off, it went okay. He was decently on time, but my family who received the dog found his demeanor strange and unfriendly. Lastly, I finally got a text from him after the drop off. (The first communication in 6 hours from him) saying quote „Your ex pup was delivered to a very happy couple“ this was extremely rude and insensitive. A simple: your dog was dropped off safely, would’ve been plenty. Specifically this was inappropriate of him because we explained the circumstances of her rehoming to him before booking. Which was sadly due to fear aggression shown towards our toddler, so she was leaving to live with other family members. But still our beloved dog. To refer to her as our „ex pup“ was the final straw in this awful experience. So unprofessional. I expected more from someone with so many positive reviews and i’d seriously caution anyone who thinks he’s the right choice to think again. He may be a good option for people who don’t care about their dogs, don’t care about their own time, have no concern for the receiving party’s time, and don’t want or care for updates or specifics. We are glad this ordeal is over and our dog is safely with kind people again. After looking deeper I found a few negative reviews of him, all of which he responds very hostile and erratically to, which fits with the treatment we received. I’m sure he will reply to this and dispute these claims, so I wanted to be as specific as possible with the direct quotes from him, because they were beyond shocking and unprofessional. Hope to save another family from this heartache and stress. 2 stars only because the dog got there safely. But 0 stars for customer service and communication.

I received a phone call from an animal shelter that an old friend of mines cat was brought in and that I was down as an emergency contact on her chip. I immediately jumped in action to find transport fast and rescue her asap! She's a senior cat and I couldn't imagine what would have happened to her if I didn't take her in! This company was first to recommend their services and was the most reasonably priced. Once we settled on a pick up and delivery date, they updated me the whole time on her status with pictures and texts. We had quite a few laughs and giggles during the whole trip. What started as a very stressful, time-sensitive situation turned into an experience that restored our faith in people. We were trying to coordinate transport and veterinary requirements for three cats — Kiwi, Peanut, and Abby — so they could complete the strict Hawaii entry requirements, including microchips, rabies vaccinations, and timing-sensitive documentation to avoid quarantine. The circumstances were extremely dynamic, schedules kept changing, and there was never a simple or straightforward timeline. From the very beginning, Fresh Start Flight Nanny was patient, understanding, flexible, and unbelievably accommodating. Sean went far beyond what anyone would reasonably expect. One of our cats, Peanut, is an absolute sweetheart but nearly impossible to catch and crate. After previous unsuccessful attempts, Sean was completely willing to rearrange his entire schedule and fly into West Virginia early from Texas if needed, just to help capture Peanut, get him safely to the veterinarian, and make sure he stayed on schedule for Hawaii’s strict timeline requirements. Thankfully, a family friend, Becca, was able to safely catch Peanut beforehand, allowing him to make his veterinary appointment on time. Once that happened, Sean immediately adapted again and changed his travel schedule a second time so he could still personally help crate the animals, transport them safely to the hotel, and prepare them for travel the following morning. That level of flexibility and dedication is rare. The moment Sean arrived, all anxiety disappeared. He was calm, professional, confident, and incredibly compassionate with the animals. He safely and gently handled all three cats without chaos, stress, or injury. It was honestly impressive to watch. Throughout the process, communication was outstanding. Sean constantly kept us updated with texts, calls, and photos. He was always accessible, incredibly reassuring, and had an amazing sense of humor that helped reduce an otherwise emotional and stressful situation. And the dedication didn’t stop there. During the flight process, an unexpected issue arose when a flight attendant reported an allergy concern. Instead of panicking, Sean remained completely professional, calmly adapted, secured alternate travel arrangements, flew into Dallas-Fort Worth, then personally drove the cats all the way to Norman, Oklahoma to ensure they arrived safely and on time. When the cats arrived, they were calm, healthy, relaxed, and transitioned into their new environment almost immediately — eating, drinking, exploring, and playing as if nothing stressful had even happened. That says everything about the level of care they received. Fresh Start Flight Nanny is not just an animal transport company — they are genuinely caring, trustworthy, compassionate people who treat your pets like family. Sean, his family, and the entire team went above and beyond in every possible way. Five stars is not enough. We would recommend Fresh Start Flight Nanny to absolutely anyone needing pet transportation services. Professional, dependable, compassionate, flexible, and simply wonderful human beings.
