We were extremely disappointed with Davidâs communication and customer service. He was at times aggressive and demeaning, specifically to my wife and sister in law. We felt very uncomfortable during the whole process but had to be cautious because he had our dog in his possession. I cannot recommend his service to anyone. If you care about your dog, think twice. If you expect to have a clear route and a clear departure and arrival window, think twice. If youâre a woman who expects to be treated with respect or empathy, avoid this person. The only positive is that he did get our dog to her new home safely. My family, who received the dog, stated he seemed loving towards her and she seemed okay. For which we are so grateful. Maybe we caught him on a bad day, but with so many positive reviews we were shocked that working with David was such a horrible experience. It started after we booked, his tone seemed to change from friendly to as if we were bothering him when asking basic questions. He was polite and clear during our messages on citizenshipper, but once we began texting about pickup, there was a shift. The time for our dogs pickup changed 3 times, originally it was Saturday morning, then Saturday mid/late afternoon, then back to Saturday 6-7am. This was fine with us but David called and seemed aggravated with us asking simple questions so we could plan and coordinate for her travel and arrival. David then let us know on Friday night that after getting our dog that next morning, he would drop another puppy off and continue with our dog up to a Chicago to her new home. We wanted to know the route our dog was taking with this change. He became aggressive over text writing âwhy? What difference does it make?â I explained we just want to know our dogs route he continued â I am honestly trying to accommodate this transport with all the requests. But I am puzzled as to why customer is never happy.â I said we are happy and appreciate the morning pickup time, no concerns here and thanked him- even though I was confused what all requests were distressing him. He then continued on with long angry texts that suggested I was upset to not have a solo trip (I never stated this) and why do I need the exact route? and then quote âin all my trips ( about) 11000 so far nobody has toyed with me so much.â I found his behavior strange and erratic and I wish I had canceled the trip then, but I desperately needed my dog transported. I apologized if there was miscommunication on our end.. and I said we looked forward to seeing him for pickup. I got no reply until next morning that he was 15 mins away. Loading our dog went fine, however once she was loaded up David chose to tell my wife condescendingly âYou know, youâre a very anxious lady. If you look back at our conversations you will see you have caused me all this stressâ of course we were anxious to send our beloved dog off with a stranger. He lacked empathy, tact, and basic respect with these comments. Instead of being reassuring he chose to be demeaning in a vulnerable moment for our family. We wanted to call out his behavior but his demeanor was aggressive and we didnât want to cause a fight. Our dog was already away in his van, he had our money, we felt backed into a corner so we chose to ignore his rude comments at the time. This began a nightmare of a 13 hour day of worrying what kind of person had possession of our dog. Additionally, our dog is strong and walks with a prong collar, he said before the trip he was familiar with these. When we asked him to remove the prong collar when the dog was in the crate in the car, (basic common sense & safety so she couldnât possibly choke herself in case of an accident etc) he said âI can, but it would make no differenceâ which was concerning from a âprofessional dog transporterâ. He said he would send photos and updates of his journey. I did not receive any photos of my dog the entire trip. He called my sister in law (dogs new home) hours after departing to let her know drop off would be around 8:30pm, which was great. Eventually I did text to ask how she was doing and he replied simply âsheâs fineâ. Another hour later he said he gave her a potty break and sheâs a good girl. When my sister in law became concerned at the lack of photos or updates halfway through the trip, she texted him asking for some. He called her and was short and aggressive with her. Telling her that he was communicating with me (he was not) and driving. Another hour later he sent one photo of the dog to her, just of her in her crate panting, that was the only photo the whole journey. None of him walking her, giving water, or any other updates on her condition. I had told him she eats at 5pm daily and sent food and her bowl. He shut this down, saying that he doesnât feed if he arrives close to their dinner stating âit doesnât make a difference to the dogâ so when she arrived at 9pm finally she was very very hungry. She also chugged water. Weâre unsure how much he gave her on the drive, again due to lack of updates. We felt like our questions angered him so we kept them to a minimum sadly out of concern for our dog. Finally during drop off, it went okay. He was decently on time, but my family who received the dog found his demeanor strange and unfriendly. Lastly, I finally got a text from him after the drop off. (The first communication in 6 hours from him) saying quote âYour ex pup was delivered to a very happy coupleâ this was extremely rude and insensitive. A simple: your dog was dropped off safely, wouldâve been plenty. Specifically this was inappropriate of him because we explained the circumstances of her rehoming to him before booking. Which was sadly due to fear aggression shown towards our toddler, so she was leaving to live with other family members. But still our beloved dog. To refer to her as our âex pupâ was the final straw in this awful experience. So unprofessional. I expected more from someone with so many positive reviews and iâd seriously caution anyone who thinks heâs the right choice to think again. He may be a good option for people who donât care about their dogs, donât care about their own time, have no concern for the receiving partyâs time, and donât want or care for updates or specifics. We are glad this ordeal is over and our dog is safely with kind people again. After looking deeper I found a few negative reviews of him, all of which he responds very hostile and erratically to, which fits with the treatment we received. Iâm sure he will reply to this and dispute these claims, so I wanted to be as specific as possible with the direct quotes from him, because they were beyond shocking and unprofessional. Hope to save another family from this heartache and stress. 2 stars only because the dog got there safely. But 0 stars for customer service and communication.
