There should be some standardized comprehensive form that all transporters adhere to and include in their agreements, such as; 1. PRIVATE or group travel, 2. Date of transport, 3. Expected number of days on the road & Delivery date etc. 4. There should also be a section for customers to write in what items need to be transported with the dogs (i.e. crate/bed etc.). In other words, there should be no question left ambiguous PRIOR TO MAKING ANY PAYMENT. Because most clients have never used an animal transport service they are not necessarily aware of all pertinent questions to ask. That said, the service provider should ensure that all important information is communicated and understood by both parties. This was not the case. Jill at Rides 4 Paws Rescue did not have any of the information we noted on Citizen Shipper included on her agreement forms. And regrettably, we did not double check with her assuming she understood and agreed to the date/Individual transport details included on the Citizen Shipper form including our preference for private transport. Once paid, when we were finally able to speak on the phone, there was nothing noted verbally, nor in the contract Jill sent, signifying it was to be a private or group transport, we did not find out until a few days before the transport date (3/11/26) that it was to be a group transport and that there would be no room for either of the dogs to bring their personal crates. Additionally, Jill (@ Rides 4 Paws) did not see the travel date of 3/15 noted on Citizen Shipper, and after we paid the deposit, informed us that she would have to let us know what timeline would work for her because her van was in the shop. This all felt disorganized and made us feel uneasy, but it is a learning process and typically these things can be worked out. The real issue occurred later when we respectfully pointed out in an email that it would be very helpful to have all of this info included on her agreement form (i.e. departure date, what items going with dog, travel time, where they will sleep overnight, arrival date). Instead of simply acknowledging our suggestions as constructive feedback, she responded by shooting off an aggressive and inappropriate email complaining that we were overcomplicating the issue and being âunprofessionalâ even going so far as to state that I had ârepeatedly insisted on speaking to her while she was on vacationâ, which was categorically untrue. She went on to state that she had never experienced dealing with people who made things this difficult, which was striking as we had done nothing but attempt to get some questions answered. Her almost volatile communication put us all off to the point that we wanted to cancel. When we reached out to Citizen Shipper in an attempt to complain and cancel our appointment, we were unable to get any assistance as Citizen Shipper is run solely by ai rendering the customer with zero control or power to cancel a scheduled trip without losing the deposit (well over $1,000) - - the only way to receive a refund is if the shipper cancels. Because of this, and due to the swiftly approaching travel date, we decided to say nothing and keep to the schedule, hoping her histrionics were limited to her interactions with humans. Ultimately, the dogs were delivered safely and that is why we gave 2 stars. In summary, we do not recommend using Citizen Shipper nor would we ever deal with Jill or Rides4Paws under any circumstance.

He safety flew one of my puppies to her forever home from WA to OH, I was nervous about the travel, but Tony put me at ease with regular texts, photo and video updates! He kept my puppy calm, clean, and happy the entire time. Professional, punctual, and a true animal lover. I would trust them again in a heartbeat!

Mann I was scared to have anyone transport my puppy to me but I couldn't be happier with the service I received! Transporting a puppy over 800 miles is a huge responsibility, and from the moment my puppy was picked up until the moment he arrived safely, I was kept informed every step of the way.
