Hello! I'm Devin J. Sherwood and I am a truck driver by trade! I drove for motor carriers for years but wanted more control over when and where I went. That's why I decided to start V.I.Pet Express based out of Knoxville, Tn! I chose not to use a cargo van because I don't feel any one person could give each pet the attention they deserve while carrying 7-10 at a time. I instead drive the reliable and age tested Toyota Sienna, as well as the luxurious Chrysler Pacifica that could each fit up to 5 XL pet carriers, plus two mediums. However, by transporting only 2-4 pets at a time, I can give each of them more space during the trip, as well as more individual care! As a truck driver for years and pet owner for decades, I'm no stranger to the long haul with a pet in transit! A typical day consists of 16 hours of driving, divided into 4 hour legs with a 15-20 minute break for each pet in between. I know that moving a pet is stressful for everyone involved. Thats why every trip includes constant gps location sharing for the whole duration so that you can check your pets whereabouts at any time you wish, plus photo updates at every break as proof of care to put your mind at ease! Every bid includes an optional but free pre-delivery grooming session followed up with a spritz in Earthbath Lavender or Vanilla Almond deodorizer, as well as a nail trimming! (This is great for helping breeders make a fantastic impression and gain word of mouth advertisement!) *Introducing our newest service: we are now offering professional photos of your pet! For an additional $50, you can now purchase a photo package in which we will find stunning views for highlights of your dogs' trip! See your pet in amazing quality with incredible back drops, such as towering mountains, ancient desert canyons, or stunning ocean views! (May add up to 1 hour to total travel time. Driver will not divert more than 30 miles from any planned route. All photos can be provided as samples with a watermark upon request, and are provided via email. For over 20 years, I was involved in the first aid squad caring for people. After retiring as the captain, my caretaking spirit has now evolved into caring for animals, which also comes very naturally to me. Having been a pet owner my entire life, I understand what is involved in caring for a personal pet. The love you have for your animals will not be lost by me. Having been doing this for the past 3 years, I find it as rewarding as my previous career. Rest assured, when your animals are in my care, they are getting the best possible care from someone who truly cares about them. I only travel with 3-4 dogs that are weight compatible. I drive a 2021 Class-C motor home, a small apartment on wheels, so your pet will feel right at home. I average 500 miles a day, stopping for 3 hours a day for gas, food, walks, and the most important part, TLC. We all sleep in the RV at night, which is very spacious. I never outsource your pets to another company so your driver will always be myself or Niki and we provide SOLO or semi solo transport with just with one other pet. Or one of my fabulous USDA licensed drivers Collin or Rhent (brothers) who travel with usually up to only 4 pets at a time for a more budget friendly and fast trip with over a million amazing miles and who have years of experience working with all kinds of animals! Your fur babies will have our full attention and get lots of love along the way as we treat them just as we treat our own pets. We only stop at fun clean spots to walk and have a no paws on the ground policy for puppies 16 weeks and younger. We love road trips so your pet will be well taken care of with plenty of love, walks, treats and toys on their trip home. Your pets health and safety are our number one priority and we work hard to ensure a 5 STAR PAWSOME EXPERIENCE for both you and your pet. My standards are high but for good reason. Since we are fully insured and USDA Licensed, puppies MUST be 8 weeks of age at the time of pick up and a health certificate is required. The health certificate from your vet states that the pet is UTD with shots and is well and healthy enough for travel and is valid for 10 days. I stay at pet friendly hotels of I am.doing a solo trip, or if I'm delayed and trying to make up time, i'll stay over at a safe travel stop and get some rest. My drivers typically offer faster service and will stop over at a safe travel center and get some rest. We are punctual and reliable and always do our best to get your pet home to you safely, healthy and on time. Please keep in mind that if we experience bad or dangerous weather situations we will stop driving and wait out the storm or re route and go around the storm so this may cause a delay. If there is a hurricane or flooding or other dangerous weather conditions, some trips may have to be rescheduled and we will do our best to get your pet on the next available spot or as soon as safely possible. Unfortunately Mother Nature always has the upper hand. We do keep you updated along our trip with photos and texts and let you know how your pup is doing when we stop for potty breaks, and gas which is usually every 3 to 4 hours. Sixty percent of the fee is payable upfront upon signing of driver agreement via Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle or Square for Credit Card payments or COD and the balance is due at the time of delivery. Hello, I have been delivering on this service for just over 3 years. My specialty is Motorcycles and Pets however on this app I have delivered many other things from furniture to boats and motorhomes. For the transports of motorcycles I use front wheel chalks, non metal tie downs and I have sets of knocker air bags to protect the motorcycles. The biggest thing I see in this service is communication. I will contact you before the transport to go over details of the trip. At pickup I will send pictures and texts of the item. During the trip I will send text and pictures updating our location and adventures of the journey. From fish to dogs, horses to goats and everything in between there is no animal I don’t love. I currently have an 8 year old miniature dachshund named Milo, a 9 year old Siamese mix named Dutchess, an almost 1 year old kitten named Sashimi, and a 3 year old toy poodle named Freda who is my newest edition and travel companion (training to be my service animal ❤️). A pro to me having a smaller vehicle as opposed to a large van or something that can fit multiple cages is that pretty much every trip is a VIP trip for your pet. I have enough room for maybe one or two animals/crates therefore I can focus on your pet and their needs more than some of these companies with larger vehicles that take four or five pets at a time :) it also means that other than potty/leg stretchbreaks each trip is pretty much a straight there trip. You don’t have to worry about me stopping to drop off multiple other animals before your baby gets to their new home! Less car time equals less stress :) I have worked in customer service basically as long as I’ve been able to work.
