About
. Hi! Before I introduce myself, let me briefly describe this service. This is flight travel for any size any breed on commercial flights in the cabin of the plane. Now if you’d like to hear more, please continue reading.
My name is Kerry, my company is K9 Comfort Paws and I am “Pawmom” to five Saint Bernards. In 2021, I underwent a blessing of a lifetime, a heart transplant. Since medically retiring, I’ve found that my life has filled me with an abundance of time to love on my own paw babies, so finding this platform to keep families connected with their pets has been an overwhelmingly wonderful experience. I’ve traveled myself all over the US to choose the best puppies for my family and friends, including rescue adoption K9s and I want to help others with the comfort and safe transport of their pets.i specialize in large breed training travel via air transportation. All size and breeds.
All dogs and cats will be transported via major commercial airlines, in cabin (not cargo) same day pick up and delivery. ALL Sizes and Breeds. Behavioral requirements to be discussed. If your dog, cat, or puppy will fit as an in cabin pet, my service may not be for you as I provide a training transportation service and not just a flight nanny.
Please be sure to read the message sent to you. My introduction has very important and very informative information about myself and services. Most information, questions, and answers can be found within my introduction. Trust that I am very transparent and will not tell you what I think you want or need to hear to gain your business. Your trust in me is an honor and your comfort in my service is necessary for a positive experience for both you and your pet.
Families who are moving across state lines, families taking vacations wanting their pets to come along, have booked my services and I’m honored to keep them connected with their pets.
Military training transports, training transport relocations, training transport rescues, training transport family vacations, etc., I’ve provided my transportation training services to accommodate most pet owners.
Come along with us! Nothing is more exciting than training travel with your dog! We can fly on the same flight or I can transport your dog or cat to its destination.
I have been background checked by Citizen Shipper, TSA (pre check), and CLEAR. As well, I am a certified K9 Task Trainer for the California Highway Patrol, Military, and private citizens.
I am an experienced flyer. I was a flight attendant with one of our Domestic Major Airlines for many years. I also have my own service K9, a Saint Bernard who flys with me frequently. Should you choose me, your pet will fly in-cabin on a confirmed flight. I offer this service to puppies, cats, and well behaved dogs up to 250 pounds.
Once we agree on a date and departure and arrival airports (in private message) I can provide a more accurate quote for air training transport. International flights and training are also available. The price quoted will include the flight for myself and your pet. I will book flights once 1/2 payment is received. There are no refunds on Bookings. All flights will be confirmed booked on a domestic major commercial airline. Flights are booked immediately upon receiving payment. Balance is due 10 days prior to scheduled departure date.
If you would like to fly on the same flight with your pet and myself, I encourage this, as there’s nothing more comfortable for your pet than to be with you too! If you would like me to book your flights as well, please let me know and I will send you a separate quote just for your flights. There are no added fees for booking your seats, even if you are on a different flight.
At this time, I am not providing ground training transportation unless it is within 500 miles of Nashville, Tennessee.
Dogs are my passion; however, I love all animals. I believe you can trust me with your pet and the safe training transportation no matter the distance. I can cross international borders as I do hold a passport. I do not charge absorbent time fees as I do this as a passion and my fees are mileage and airfare only based (with the exception of travel more than 10 hours in one day). I’ll be happy to provide you with references and my personal information as well as social media access to insure I am a real and reliable person.
Once booked, you will have access to GPS coordinates (via Life360) at all times.
All bookings are private (solo-VIP) training transportation. No additional animals other than yours will be trained and transported unless it is an order for a complete singular litter. Your pet(s) will only be trained and transported by me or if for some unforeseen incident, if possible, a minor schedule will be changed. Please note: this has never happened.
Contact me by sending a message with any questions as per Citizen Shipper, I am not allowed to provide any contact information prior to booking.

20+ years experience.
I have been training pets as a K9 Task Trainer, breeder, and for others for 29 years, both by air and by ground; however, I am no longer providing training with ground transportation outside of 500 miles from Nashville, TN. I do not carry more than one clients pet at a time. Every client is a solo VIP.
I’m extremely flexible so whatever your pet needs, I am capable of taking the best care. I am AKC certified as an AKC Good Citizen Trainer. I’m also certified with our US Government in training search and rescue and water cadaver K9s. I have in-flight trained and transported practically every breed of dog and cat. Celebrity pets, Military families, and private citizens, no matter the client, each pawbaby is treated with the same love, compassion, and care. So you see, I have a love for doing this, it’s not business it’s family. I have tons of references, upon request.
Remember, your pets safety and comfort are my main priority. You will receive several videos and photos of your pet at each stop throughout our training and travel. If you would like to FaceTime, that is alright too. I know you’re excited to be reconnected with your baby and I’m excited and honored to make that happen!
*** NOTE: CitizenShipper charges a fee at booking that goes 100% to them. This is separate from your deposit to me. Until you click "Book Now" and pay the fee, we can not communicate off the site. This is a CitizenShipper rule, and is for your protection as well as my protection.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
No one knows your pet as well as you do. Air training and transportation may not be suitable for your pet. But in my experience if your dog shows no signs of aggression, walks well on a leash, and is well behaved in busy public places, air training transportation is the safest, least interrupted, most comfortable, and quickest way to get your pet to its destination.
Payment methods accepted include Credit Card and Zelle Transfer. Only.
There are zero refunds on Bookings. 1/2 payment of discussed quote is due upon booking for Services and confirmed flight booking. All flights and hotels will be booked immediately upon your booking with paid deposit. Balance is due 10 days prior to scheduled departure date.
There are no refunds on cancellations due to flight cancellations and/or delays due to Airline issues and/or weather. All efforts will be made to reschedule flights with the airlines as permitted by the airline.
There are no refunds on bookings made for flight training/travel if your dog does not meet the requirements as discussed once arriving at the airport. If your dog is not well behaved upon check-in, through security, in the Terminal, during boarding, and/or onboard the aircraft, he/she will not be permitted to fly. Therefore, behavior is always discussed before booking. There are no exceptions.
I reserve the right to cancel your training/transport for any reason. If I have to cancel due to personal reasons, you will receive a an immediate full refund (of payment received) plus the fee paid to Citizen Shipper. Refunds will be made in the same manner in which payment was received within 24 hours of cancellation.
Thank you for your consideration, trust, honor, and I look forward to working with you!

Both Kerry, who made our arrangements, and Abbie, who did the transport, are incredible, compassionate people. They worked quickly to make my move happen with the most cost-effective process. I cannot recommend K9 Comfort Paws Travel enough. They obviously love animals and helped me and all four of my fur kiddos make a smooth transition home.

Kerry was absolutely incredible. We had never done anything like this before. She answered all our questions and we had a lot. From the minute she met us at the airport she took command of our dogs. The dogs loved her the moment they met her. She walked us through TSA with ease. She watched them while went and got a bit to eat. She loaded the dogs onto the plane and they at ease, thanks to her professionalism. They slept like babies so that we could sleep. We had a very smooth and positive experience. She followed up after the trip and even drove over to our house to deliver us some medication for one of our dogs. She is a friend for life. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs to transport their dogs anywhere. She is a blessing and beautiful person.
Thank you Kerry.

We had the best experience with Kerry and Abbie, who helped us fly Grey from SF to NY. Kerry was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the full experience -- from the moment we discovered her service, she patiently answered all of our questions and helped us understand exactly how everything would work, to the trip itself, when Abbie sent us updates and photos the whole way. They took such amazing care of Grey and we are incredibly grateful for their support and this amazing service that they provide. We can't recommend them more highly, and we'll definitely work with them again in the future. Grey arrived calm and happy, and it was clear that they took care of her as if she were their own! Thank you so much Kerry and Abbie!

Review for K-9 Comfort / Kerry Kirchenberg
We are snowbirds that live in Maine in summer and Arizona in winter. On October 24, 2023 we traveled with our whole family: 2 people & 2 dogs from Maine to Arizona. Our little one was in her crate beneath the seat ahead of my husband. Roscoe is a 50 lb. tan hound for whom we hired Kerry. On our trip, Roscoe rested on his blanket on the floor in the cabin of the plane between Kerry and I. We purchased a seat for him—not that he could sit on the seat, but to allow him room to stretch out between us. Roscoe had been the cause of six cross-country road trips. He could not get shipped by plane until we found Kerry. What a godsend! Our road trips were 3000 miles and 6 days on the road. Exhausting and stressful for both dogs and humans.
Kerry talked me through all my fears and worries. Our Roscoe is known for his barks and howls—he’s a hound. His vocalizing is “normal” for a hound, but he can make quite a ruckus. We told Kerry about our concerns—and we talked on facetime including Roscoe in the picture and sound. Our Vet told us we could not take a dog in the cabin of the plane. When we explained how we could with Kerry, he said, “If Roscoe makes noise like he has here in my office, they will put you off the plane.” We had two legs of the airplane journey. I was terrified Roscoe would land us in a distant city, no flight, no car, no easy way home. Kerry patiently talked me through my fears. The hope of a one-day trip with all of us together, spurred us on. I’d read Kerry’s reviews. Not a clinker in the bunch. She told me she’s escorted over 100 dogs in the past year, and every one of them made the journey without a hitch.
In the past we provided Vet prescribed meds for our dogs to calm them. However, we were not taught how best to administer them—to begin the night before the journey when the dog is in a restful state. Then test how long till they wake, administer another dose before leaving for the airport, and then monitor them throughout the journey. Roscoe received his last dose in the afternoon. Throughout the journey he was calm and mellow.
Part of calming ME (not the dog) was getting to know Kerry. I did my research. She is an experienced dog trainer—not just standard stuff—she trains service dogs. Her skills and experience are extensive. But the proof for us was having a day of traveling with Roscoe quiet and comfortable beside Kerry. He walked beside Kerry, sat or lay down on his mat—a perfect gentleman when folks approached and asked to pet him.
Initially, Kerry suggested my husband and I sit at the other end of the plane to not convey our anxiety to Roscoe. However, after spending time together pre-boarding, Kerry invited us to sit near her. Our whole family were together on the plane with Kerry. We visited the dog potty places at each airport. Both dogs sniffed and said no thanks. Having had food and water withheld pre-flight, both dogs waited until they could use the outdoor potty place provided by the airlines. We followed Kerry’s instructions to restore water and food gradually when we got home. By the next morning they were their normal active selves again.
I admit the expense is significant. But what we got in return was worth every penny. From calming my fears, to being Roscoe’s travel buddy, to renting a baggage cart when we arrived at our destination, Kerry was gracious, knowledgeable and cheerful. But best of all: our family traveled 3000 miles in one day, safely and happily together. I found Kerry to be a delightful travel companion with wonderful stories about her experiences with dogs—hers and those she escorts. She is the real McCoy. If you are considering hiring her, do your research and then talk to her. She is an honest, caring person who can help your dog travel safely on board a plane.

Imagine yourself needing to travel across the country from California to the East Coast with your entire family plus your 80 lb dog. We were in this situation and knew that we wanted desperately to bring our beloved Bailey on the trip with us for the summer. Kerry, quite simply, made this happen flawlessly. She was a joy to work with from the time I found her contact information online. She walked me through the process which involved booking flights and also meeting up with us at the airport to assist us in traveling with our "fur baby." Both my wife and I were relieved when Kerry popped up right as we were dropped off outside the terminal . The check-in process was smooth and she used the time until boarding to talk with us about tips for our dog during travel. Throughout the entire process, we felt very comforted and aware that she is a professional who knows both how to treat animals and also navigate the quirky parts of being in an airport with your pet.
In addition to helping us with our pet, she was calming in telling us stories of the many, many trips she has done for a variety of other clients. We were so pleased with her services that we asked to have her help on our return back to the West Coast. We cannot recommend her highly enough! If you are in a situation where you need to fly with your animal and your are considering the safest, most humane, and comfortable means, it would be our only choice to use K9 Comfort Pars Travel. Thank you so much for everything!!!

Kerry is amazing! I was originally planning on shipping my Australian Shepherd from Louisville, Kentucky to San Diego. Fortunately, for us both, Kerry reached out and offered her services. From the moment I engaged with her, you could tell she had a genuine desire to help whether I planned on booking with her or not. I ultimately made the decision to use her, and I am incredibly glad I did. I was able to quickly, safely and conveniently transport my dog across country in the comfort of an airplane, as opposed to being stuck in a van for four or five days. The cost was extremely competitive, especially when compared to privately transporting my dog clear across country. Kerry even explained how she could help me travel with my dog internationally.
We all flew together on the same flight and things could not have gone more smoothly. Kerry gave me several flight options and was incredibly knowledgeable. She literally thought of everything. She was in constant communication and was incredibly easy to work with. Her background as a flight attendant and her knowledge about flying with service dogs is extensive.
The thing that impressed me most about Kerry is her genuine love for all dogs and helping people effortlessly travel with their pets. I’m sure I will use her again many more times in the future. Traveling with my dog has always been a dream of mine, and Kerry helped make that dream a reality!

Kerry was a dream to work with. Her attentiveness and communication were on point from the beginning, keeping me up to date on bookings and how this process would work. I needed her transportation services to get my dog to our new home across the country. I spoke to our vet about a cross-country transport with pet movers or flying, and while my dog would've been less anxious in a car, she would've been traveling with strangers for days in unfamiliar surroundings, so he said if there was any way possible to fly with her in the cabin, that would be the way to go. I nearly jumped when I saw Kerry's bid because I'd given up on figuring out a way to fly with my dog and couldn't take off enough work to drive. The cost and lack of awareness that a service like this existed, I was nervous, but it was on par with bids I got for cross-country drives anyways. Plus I'm pretty hands-on with my 2.5 year old pup as we continue to work on training. For my peace of mind, I decided I would join them on the trip and see for myself how it works because my golden can be a handful at times. In the month leading up to our travel date, Kerry gave tips and checked in when I asked what training I should work with her on for a smooth process. She was patient with her in the airport and on the plane, unphased by her excitement and occasional pulling en route to the gate. My dog surprised me being extremely calm and just keeping par with Kerry's energy throughout the flight as she lie on the floor between us. Flight attendants complimented her throughout the flight, and a passenger across the aisle stopped by to tell me she was very well behaved on his way out of the plane.
It was a 4.5 hour flight or so, and I was baffled with what to do with myself because I didn't plan on having the liberty to watch a movie and actually relax, but that's what I was able to do. Not to mention Kerry's patience with my curiosity and nervousness about making this work. When my dog got nervous for landing, Kerry was already prepared and gave a heads up so I could follow her lead on what to do. I'm so grateful for her services, and that I was able to get my dog to our new home in a comfortable manner with the lowest time of transport. We saw a vet the next day to get paperwork for a local daycare and she was shocked that my dog had been on her first flight the day before because she was as happy and energetic as ever. I've been raving to friends and family about how well this process went to get my dog here, and if I need to fly with her again, I'll be reaching out to Kerry without hesitation.
